Matomo is an open-source web analytics application to track online visits on your heyflow and display reports on these visits for analysis. It is also a GDPR-compliant alternative to Google Analytics.
Setup
In your Matomo interface, go to the tab Integrations
Here you will find all necessary information to connect your heyflow to Matomo which are the Matomo URL and the site ID
Copy both items and click on “Don’t show this message for the next hour” to access the dashboard
If you are already in your Matomo dashboard you can simply copy the URL from your browser window
To obtain the site ID, click on the settings wheel in the upper right corner and choose "Websites" (sometimes called “Measurables”) and then "Manage", which will give you the ID
Go to your heyflow, navigate to "Integrations" and then to the tab "Analytics"
Scroll down to "Matomo" and paste the Matomo URL and the site ID
Click "Connect" and don't forget to republish your flow afterward.
Your heyflow is now connected with Matomo!
We recommend doing a test run to make sure events are properly tracked in Matomo.
Whenever someone clicks through your heyflow, you'll be able to see them in the "visitor profile" which you can access via the "ID" symbol in your dashboard.
In the visitor profile, you'll find event and action data such as button clicks, input changes and submits.
Troubleshooting
I don't see any events in Matomo
Make sure you do not decline the Cookie Consent when testing the events in your heyflow and try disabling ad blocker and other extensions.
