As part of our ongoing commitment to provide you with a secure Heyflow experience, we’re making some important updates to our embeds and default domains:
As of 31st December 2024, we will replace the default www.heyflow.id/[your-heyflow-id] links and also end legacy support for iframe embeds.
This means that the accessibility of your flow might be impacted in case you don't have your own domain connected. Here is what you need to know
1. New Heyflow default links
Why the change?
As you know, every published Heyflow receives a default link from us, regardless if your own domain is connected.
To provide greater flexibility & security, and be able to introduce future features like custom paths, we will change these default links in fall 2024. Both the old and new default links will be active until the end of the year when the old heyflow.id links will be shut down.
❗ Important: This update only concerns you if you actively route traffic to the standard link provided by Heyflow (www.heyflow.id/[your-heyflow-id]). If you have your own domain connected, you can ignore this update.
What you need to do:
Right now, there is nothing for you to do, we just wanted to give you a heads up that you will need to get active by the end of the year and change your traffic from the heyflow.id link to the new default link. The new default links are planned to be released in October 2024 and we will get back to you to inform you about the next steps.
As an alternative, we strongly recommend you connect your own domain, so you are not affected by any changes to Heyflow’s default domain.
2. End of iframe embed legacy support
Why the change?
In January 2023 we introduced our new web component-based embeds which offer improved performance, better analytics, and seamless integration with other Heyflow features. After a pretty long transition period of nearly two years, we will retire the support of the old iframe embeds by the end of 2024.
❗ Important: This update only concerns you if you're actively using an embed that has been created before January 2023 that hasn't been updated since. If you do not see this "Legacy Embed" tag in your embed tab, you can ignore this update.
What you need to do:
Please update any embeds that were created before January 2023 and haven't been updated since. Your newer embeds will not be affected.
For your older embeds, you will need to adjust the redirect settings as mentioned below. You can find further information in our help article about embeds.
Set up your inline embed as instructed in the help article.
Make sure to change your redirect from “Parent window (embedded)” to “Same window (_self)”.
Paste the new code snippets into your website.
Please note that any Custom JS might also be affected by this change and require adjustments. We strongly recommend reviewing your custom JS and reach out to our Customer Support team if you encounter any problems or have further questions.
